I have the same concern.
Unfortunately the employer has total control over that process - To protect yourself, I wouldn't even consider a job offer is there until they have given you the Certificate of Sponsorship number for you to file your visa application
THIS!

Do not submit your resignation in your current organization until the COS is approved. The offer letter means nothing until the COS (and eventually the Visa) is granted. Share this this with other aspirants you may meet. I made this mistake and stuck in limbo now.

My potential employer also suggested they will try in SOL(not sure how) and would not share if they submitted this month or any other information. all they are saying is to wait.

45 points (non SOL i think) waiting.
I wouldn't even resign after the COS - until your new Tier 2 is in your passport - it is at that point you then should quit
I have the notice period of 90 days and UKVI also has policy that we can't apply for Visa more than 90 days in advance of start date. I do not see a choice but to resign before visa.

Case it puts anyone mind at ease.

55k+ Salary, Non SOL, IT Management -- I am still waiting for a reply one way or another.

Patience folks as I understand it waiting in Queue is an art form in England.

Whilst we can do nothing but wait, is it worth answering this poll to see some data distribution?

I request ONLY those people to vote, who satisfy all these conditions below :
1) RCOS applied for you in the June panel
2) You are awaiting the result
3) Your job is in the non-shortage category
4) You were not offered a job through the milkround route

I have not created this poll for the shortage category as those applicants will surely get the RCOS irrespective. Also, I've created this on the basis on salary (and not points), as a lot of people are confused about the points calculation.

https://vote.pollcode.com/52681967

Please vote only once. Click on the "View" button if you wish to see the results later on.

Thanks
Good initiative. I just voted, and urge all others to vote too. It will give us a picture of the points people have in this forum. Here's a quick summary of the votes as of now:

Selection Votes
< 40k 18% 14
>=40k and <45k 15% 12
>=45k and <50k 18% 14
>=50k and <55k 32% 25
>=55k and <60k 13% 10
>=60k 5% 4

Haha.....analogy at its best! Brits wait tirelessly in queues, and now they are making us wait! :mrgreen:

It's official that they are going to exclude Nurses and doctors from the quota. I don't think they are doing it from this month itself however I will be extremely happy though.

Doubt so - it seems like the decisions are all made at the meeting that happened on 11 of every month?

Any doctors in the house?

The most important note: "In a major overhaul of the immigration system set to be unveiled tomorrow, the Government is also expected to allow businesses to bring in an extra 8,000 skilled migrants a year from industries including IT, engineering and teaching."

Currently almost 7-8000 COS are issued to doctors/NHS workers. Once doctors/nurses r removed from the tier 2 list then those COS can be issued to other professionals and hence that 8000 can be used for other professions. I think this is what they are intending in the news. But if they are actually increasing COS by 8000 then that would be really great for us.

They will not reduce the number of 20.700 right? There will be more vacancies in the end...

Yes they will not reduce number of 20,700 and the rcos used by doctors and nurses are now available for other professions.
Their target is still reduction of "net immigration"

Just heared from my employer. The status says "Under Review"

I am standing with 50 points & 51k salary, Non SOL & Non NHS.

Can anyone please tell me what does under review status mean? HO has not requested any documents yet from the employer!

Definately if am a person who is in 30's I will have my turn probably in September. Hope am proven wrong.

There is backlig at 45 I think it's between 600-1000 probably this will go through in July if not there will be few hundreds carried forward and then in August there is a chance of up to 40 getting cleared. Probably September it will go beyond that.

This is based on the backlog and assuming there will be not more than the usual applications submission. If not there is a chance that it will go till 35 in August.

I’ve been offered a role with 55k+ salary and have not received an offer letter yet.
I was told that my new employer will file for a COS in June and once it is approved, will get the formal offer letter and the steps for visa etc.
What really worries me is whether my name was filed in June list or not.
What are the probable chances for me to score points and get a confirmation if my cos was fielded in June?
I have the same concern.

Hi,
You rightly said it! I am on the same page too. 45 points, non SOL , applying for second time in June.
Already resigned and no job for these 2 months now. Not sure how long need to wait or better join somewhere temporarily and wait for RCOS to be approved.

The article on the guardian and all the other sources where they quote sajid javid say the new changes start from tomorrow. This could explain why there were no approvals or anything today.

You would think that the changes would come into effect for RCoS applications made for the July allocation but if the score drops this month or doctors with lower salaries make it through it might signal that it will also effect this month which would be great in terms of the backlog being worked through quicker.

I guess there are doctors below 46 (meaning they go another way emptying others quota ) brackets from December 2017 being refused who are going to be exempt and make competition easier , i am on 29 still hoping since like 4 months.
