10 year or 7 year route

Post by lp005 » Mon Jun 18, 2018 3:28 pm

Dear Administrators and Subject experts,
I am new to this group and would like to seek some advice on the 7 year or 10 year route for ILR. I travelled to UK with my spouse and my child to the UK in 2011 and below is my visa status and history so far:

Visa Type/ Granted On/ Entered UK/ Exited UK/ Time spent
Tier 2 ICT / 06/09/2011/ 02/10/2011/ 13/09/2016/ 5 Years
Tier 4Gen Student/ 18/01/2017/ 28/01/2017/ 1.5 years

I have just completed my MBA and have been an offered a job at one of the leading consulting firms in the UK. They have started my Tier2 Gen visa application process and should have the visa ready by end of Aug '18. My query is as below:

1. I will be completing 7 years of continuous stay by the end of Sep1'8 hence wondering if i can apply for definite leave to remain based on my child's stay in the UK.
2. Given that I have been in the country since Oct 2011 with a break of 117 days in that year alone, am i eligible for 10 year ILR in 2021?

Appreciate if i could get some clarification on this

Thanks !

There is no " 7 year stay ilr" route. It is flr(FP) 2. 5 year visa if you can get it.
