Canadian Moving to Ireland from UK with Irish Citizen

Hello everyone,

I am a Canadian living in the UK with my Irish partner. I am a Non-EU citizen, currently on a youth mobility visa in the UK. He has Irish citizenship but is living and working in the UK. We have been together for three years, and lived together for two (currently living together), and are trying to figure out how to move back to Ireland together. Confused about residency requirements for the de facto partnership, can anyone help clarify?
