Family Reunification

Post by Donharpoon » Sun Jul 01, 2018 10:01 am

Hello everyone,

I am new here so if this isnt the right place to post I apologise in advance.

My questions is regarding family reunification in France. My father is a French citizen but I am not, so I was wondering if there are any way my father can do anything to help me get in sort of long term residency etc... from this. We contacted a lawyer before and he said that this is possible but he never got in details because he was in a hurry and obviously wanted money.

If anyone over here can provide any assitance I would be extremely grateful for you.

How old are you? Are you financially dependent on your father? If so, do you have documentary proof of such financial dependency (bank transfer statements, etc)?
I am not a lawyer or immigration advisor. My statements/comments do not constitute legal advice. E&OE. Please do not PM me for advice.

I am over 18, and I don't depend on him for any financial matter. So there isnt any sort of financial dependency.

If you are under 21 as far as I know no proof of financial dependance is needed.

Financial proof is not a problem for me, I can provide it but I work outside France. If you any of you have heard of this process happening for over 21 it'll be great if you can share you experience.

If over 21 you have to prove you are a financial dependant.

Have you read French national laws?

Hi Caravel88,

I wouldn't say I didn't read the law at all, its just I am not in the clear zone. As I said I can prove of Financial Dependency without any issue but do you have an idea of the other requirements or procedures?

Many thanks for the help

Yeah I am sorry I meant to say Financial Independency. So to be clear I DO NOT depend on him financially.

Thanks for pointing this out.

Read the French law, and/or contact the French embassy and ask them, and/or get a lawyer.

If you are over 21 and not financially dependant on your father there is no other way.
