Hi, Nikoletta
The interview was pretty simple, just relax and make sure you have thought about the answers beforehand.
I was asked the following questions:
1. Can you confirm your identity by saying your name, date, and place of birth?
2. Why did you apply for this course?
3. Why did you choose that University and that city?
4. Why did you choose the UK?
5. What will you do after you graduate from this course?
6. How would this degree help you to achieve what you'll do after this course?

I'm going to study an MSc in Security Studies
Good luck, remember, RELAX!!

I think as per the new immigration rules all Tier 4 applicants have to go through the interview (may be except the low-risk nationals)

As for why I chose the UK, I said this:
1. The UK has a Long history of academic excellence with lots of Nobel prize winners
2. Cultural Diversity
3. UK degrees are highly regarded accros the globe which is big advantage when looking for a job or applying in another country to further your studies.

Why are you posting in the Tier 4 Student Visa sub forum when you have applied for a completely different route NOT related to student visas???

Yes, as the rules and requirements are completely different for UK Immigration route Tier 4 Student visa and the RoR PR route you are applying on under the EEA/EU rules and regulation!!!

Your application has nothing to do with the UK Tier 4 student visa route or interviews conducted.

Have you tried calling UKVI? they'll tell you at what stage your application is. It is better than sending an email which will take an extra 2 days to get a reply

Any update, guys?
I just collected my passport a few hours ago and I got the visa!!!

My timeline:

STANDARD Application
-Online application: 19th June
-Biometrics + Interview: 22nd June
-VFS SMS stating my application has been transferred to UKVI: 22nd June
Since then no email/sms/calls from UKVI
-Was worried and called UKVI about my application and I was told a decision has already been made and the visa application centre would contact me soon: 9th July
-VFS SMS saying my passport is ready for collection: 9th July (2 hours after I called UKVI)

So I went to the visa application centre (I was late cause I overslept, smh) this morning and collected my passport with the visa sticker/vignette. The decision was made on the 4th of July.

It took 8 working days to make a decision on my application and an extra 3 working days for the passport to reach me

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE. UK here I come!

Hello,
Applying from Dubai.

Priority application
Timeline:
29 June - online application submitted
3 July - Biometrics and handing in documents (( No interview, was told by VFS that I will receive a call (from them or ukvi not sure)in few days for an interview))
3 July - SMS from VFS that application and document was forwarded to UKVI

No contact whatsoever from UKVI regarding interview or application and today marks the 7th working day. I was told by VFS employee on 3rd of July that priority application from his experience that 95% are done in 5 working days.
What worries me is that they have my passport and family is planning to travel to the UK and Europe on the 1st of August for tourism, and I am afraid I won't make it. I have another citizenship but can't be used as its not Visa-free for UK and Schengen.
My question is, has there been instances were Visa is granted without Interview? and what are my chances of receiving my passport and visa before the first of August?

Since it is a priority application, I'm pretty sure you will get your passport before the end of July. And Yes, I have seen people get a visa without passing the credibility interview (though it was for a super priority application)
I suggest you call UKVI. Saves you a lot from the stress

I am in a similar situation. I applied at the TLSContact center in Tel Aviv, and was expecting an interview. However, they just collected my documents and biometrics without any mention of an interview whatsoever. I applied priority, and they told me that I would hopefully have a decision within 5-10 working days.

Timeline (Priority Application):
Online application submission: 06 July
Document Submission & Biometrics (no interview): 10 July
TLSContact Says the documents have been transferred to UKVI: 11 July
TLSContact tracking shows the application was received by UKVI: 12 July
Email from Sheffield saying that my application has been received and is being prepared for consideration: 12 July

I suppose it is possible that they have chosen not to interview us? Or will we likely get invited in on a different date to sit for an interview?

Whether you need to attend an interview has nothing to do with where and when you submit your application. UKVI will write to you if you need to attend one. It is not done at the time of submitting at TLS as they are only a third party handling agent.

Are all non-"Low Risk" nationals invited for interviews by UKVI prior to being issued a visa, or are there circumstances in which a non-"Low-Risk" national is granted a tier 4 visa without being interviewed?

There is no definitive, it depends on your application on whether you are invited for an interview or not.
