Re: BRP(RC) applications

My application wasn't processed within the standard 8 weeks. I wrote an email to my area MP explaining the situation and asking for help.
He wrote a letter to Director UK Visas and Immigration asking why my application hadn't been processed within the standard 8 weeks.

Hi again, do you have an email for this director?
My MP must have a lot of correspondence pr something because it's taking weeks (over a month) for a reply and I just don't have that time

My BRP(RC) application (Tier 4 student visa, limited leave to remain) has taken over the 8 weeks processing time...has this happened to anyone else recently? I'm wondering if they have a backlog or something because I can't get any information out of them about why it hasn't come

Application sent: 22nd April 2018
Money taken: 25th April 2018
Biometrics letter received: 9th May 2018
Biometrics taken and submitted: 14th May

The card is now one day over due. I rung UKVI to request information as was told the application is "still under consideration"!! I don't understand why this is the case, it's not a new visa just a new card!

Anyone else having a similar situation>

I rung the Home Office's general enquiries number, selected option 3 then option 2.

Still nothing, it's past 9 weeks now. I tried contacting the Home Office again but they wouldn't give me any information/updates as apparently you can only ask for an update once...ridiculous.

BRP RC Tier 2 LTR

Application received by HO : 22/05/2018
Payment deduction : 24/05/2018
Biometric letter received: 13/06/2018
Biometric enrolment: 14/06/2018

8 weeks today and nothing.

It seems like no one had got anything back within the 8 weeks time in the last few months. For anyone that got it back late, was there a reason for it?

Trying to figure out when I should contact UKVI or my local MP.

Thanks.

There was no reason given or any apology. You can try your MP but I didn't have much luck with mine. I think the BRP came before he could even ask about it. It's mostly just a waiting game I'm afraid. Mine took almost 12 weeks
Good luck

Hi,

I would like to share my experience renewing BRP card for my children/kids. We've got our ILR almost 5 years back (ie Aug 2013) and our children BRP cards is expiring on 15/08/2018.

26/03/2018 : post the BRP RC form together with passports, BRP cards and supporting documents (GP registration letter and school letter (period Nov 2015 to date) which have my children names on it)
18/04/2018 : received email acknowledgement & case ID from Home Office for each applicant.
30/04/2018 : received notification email on biometric enrolment letters will be posted to our address.
31/05/2018 : followed up with Home Office via email, as we have not receive the letters.
13/06/2018 : received letter dated 08/06/2018 saying that 1 of my children photo is missing.
14/06/2018 : replied to the letter attaching the photos.
25/06/2018 : received biometric enrolment letters.
30/06/2018 : enrolled biometric data in Post Office.
20/07/2018 : received letter dated 17/07/2018 requesting additional original documents to proof my children have continued residence in the UK for year 2014, 2015 and 2016). Due date to reply is within 14 days. example given:-
>> School letter noting start date and end dates, PLUS attendance record each year
>> Doctor's letter, PLUS appointment dates for each year.
>> any other documents that show they have been residing in the UK during the dates above.

21/07/2018 : replied to Home Office letter explaining that our children were toddlers (below 4 years old) in 2014 to 2016, hence we don't have much documents with their names on it. Alternatively we provided supporting documents of :-
(a) School letter noting start date and end dates;
(b) School annual report which showing attendance % for each kids (as school letter that we got previously in March 18 did not state their attendance record for each year);
(c) Photographs of my children around the UK for almost each month of 2014 to 2016, all the photos have time&date stamps at the corner;
(d) Flight tickets bookings/holiday for the whole family which show how many days/weeks my children spent outside of UK for each year (which they could cross-check against exit/enter UK border stamps on my children passports); and
(e) Council tax bills from year 2013 until 2019 - as proof of parents' address.

Note: We did try to get a GP letter and paid GBP 20 per child, however it takes 2 weeks to be prepared. So it won't meet due date given by Home Office, we have decided to proceed with whatever documents that we have. we paid Next Day delivery service to the Post Office, so the letter will be delivered on Monday morning.

27/07/2018 : received new BRP cards.
28/07/2018 : received passports & all supporting documents.

Hope this will help other parents who will be applying for their children's BRP renewal in the future.

After 4 months of waiting, we finally come to an end of this process.

Hi all,

I got my ILR approved via a premium appointment on 04/08 and received my BRP on 09/08. Unfortunately, my BRP got stolen on 11/08. I have since applied for a replacement card online on 13/08 and sent my passport (I read later that I didn't need to send my passport for a like for like replacement ILR BRP).
My question however is can I cancel this application and get my passport back and then apply for a premium appointment as I can't wait for 6 months to receive my BRP card. Has anyone done it?

Regards,
Amit

Thought I would post my timeline on here for reference:

Applied online for replacement & payment made: 9 July
Supporting documents sent: 20 July
Biometrics Letter received: 1 August (dated 3 August)
Biometrics supplied: 3 August
BRP Received: 30 August (Issue date 24 August)

So overall, from application to receiving the card was a few days under 8 weeks.

Hi all
just wanted to post my timeline for my replacement BRP
I have Indefinite leave to remain
time line :
Sent postal application 14/04/18
money deducted from account 17/04/18
bio-metric letter received 27/04/18
bio-metrics given 28/04/18

I have not heard anything since , I was supposed to travel on 20/06/18 but this is looking more and more unlikely as time goes on.
I feel so vulnerable without any form of identification and I just don't understand why it should take up to 6 months. All I can do it wait and hopefully it arrives soon
Hi can you please update if you have received any response so far? I have recently (13-08-2018) applied for my BRP (RC) as well and I am yet to receive ANY kind of response from HO. They have deducted the application fee tho.

Hi everyone,

My wife lost her ILR BRP in the UK.

Application was received 6th February
Payment taken on the 7th February

She still hasn’t received her enrolement letter and we are due to be travelling to Thailand on the 6th April. If the card doesn’t come in time will she be able to apply for a BRP Visa whilst outside of the U.K., even though she lost the card in the U.K.? I have heard mixed messages and would just like some clarity on where she stands.

Many thanks
Hi what is update on your case? Or have I missed your update somewhere?

Hi, This forum was very useful for me.
I just wanted to share my experience renewing BRP(ILR) card for my daughter. Hope this information will be helpful for other. My Daughter BRP was expiring on 14th Aug 2018. It took almost 3 months 12 days to get the BRP card.

23/05/2018: Application reached the Home office.
25/05/2018: Amount of £56 deducted from the account.
06/06/2018: Received the Biometric Enrolment Letter.
07/06/2018: Biometric Enrolment done in the post office.
05/07/2018: Called the Home Office to know the status of my Application. Not useful and they told me to wait for 6 months. ILR application decision takes minimum 6 months. If you did not hear back from us after 6 months, then call.
05/09/2018: Finally received : BRP card and other documents.

Documents Attached:
1) My Daughter's Old Biometric Card.
2) My Daughter's Passport.
