Applying from outside for Naturalisation of child born in uk

Post by Mrsmathews2018 » Tue Jul 24, 2018 12:54 am

Hi Sir,
I am a nurse currently on tier 2 general , (shortage occupation list).
I am going to apply for ILR in September. My son who was born in UK 2 years ago ,has been living with my parents in India since March this year. Following my ILR , he becomes eligible for Naturalisation . My concern is ,if I could apply his Naturalisation while he is in India. Or should I bring him before my ILR and make his citizenship application while he is in UK.
Kindly reply,
Many Thanks
Mrs Mathews.

You cannot register your son as a citizen before he has ILR first.

If a parent has ILR, then a UK born child is entitled to register from anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, they don’t appear to make it easy.
