Registering my child as BC

Post by 10020132 » Tue Mar 13, 2018 5:11 pm

Hi
I have applied for ILR under tier 1 ent route and I am hoping to receive it soon but I am planning ahead

I have 2 children -1 month old and 3 years old
Once I get Ilr, I know I can register them as BC as they both are UK born

Now, my options are:

1) I apply their Pakistani passport now and wait for my Ilr to come and soon as my Ilr arrives, apply to register them as BC. After they are done with biometric enrollment, send them (my wife and 2 kids) to Pakistan to enjoy summer over there and as soon as their passport arrives I will take the passport with me to Pakistan. Can there be any complication here?

2) As soon as I receive my Ilr, send them (wife with 2 kids) to Pakistan (without applying for their registration as BC), and then my wife applies from Pakistan. Is that possible? Someone said that it is possible but I couldn’t find any link with information about the procedure to do that. So If you can share the link for me please

Moreover, If you can suggest me other way of doing this keeping in mind that my only objective is that they enjoy summer months in Pakistan and my wife does not stay outside for more than 180 days as she is still on dependant visa

Mn1 registration from abroad

Post by 10020132 » Tue Jul 17, 2018 4:56 am

Hi
I have applied for my ILR based on tier 1 entrepreneur

I have two children who are eligible to be registered as British citizens after I receive my ilr. My question is can I apply their registration as BC from Pakistan? If so then what is the process as I can’t find any link or details online

Thanks for the reply
But I saw that link and went to vfsglobal website. There is no option I can select to register as BC. I tried different options
Can you please guide me as to which options to choose to get on to the right form?

This email address is even worse as it sends back some FAQs and their generic answers which are available online already and are of least help
And the email says that no other response will be given

This is the reply I have received from them

“For enquiries about exams, or general enquiries for the British Council, please use the following details:

Telephone
0800-2200 (within Pakistan only from Mondays to Thursdays 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and on Friday 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.)
E-mail
info@britishcouncil.org.pk

Please note that all UK visa enquiries are now being dealt by the UKVI International Enquiry Service. The British High Commission is no longer directly handling visa correspondence. Please visit www.ukvi-international.faq-help.com to log your enquiry.”

And the link given by them doesn’t work either. I don’t know what to do next. This is such a circus

If you know any better source then please help me

Yes they do take applications for Passport but not for British Citizenship registration or atleast this is what I gathered from their website

If there is someone who has actually done it himself I think he could have given first hand information but it seems like no one has done it before

An "overseas citizenship application" doesn't sound like a passport application.

I tried registering it again and the closest category is settlement of child which is more like ILR
And the form does not ask anything like MN1 form questions like character requirements or references etc
So that is casting the biggest doubt that it is something else

Because in MN1 registration on gov.uk it says that to apply from overseas the only way is paper form which needs to be sent to Liverpool but I dont know what is after that

I tried ringing different numbers today with ukvi helpline and I finally spoke to someone who told me that the process is that I will have to post the form to Liverpool address and then they will post me the biometric letter in Pakistan which is Something I am hesitant to do
So instead will it be possible if I apply for MN1 registration here and do their biometrics and then send them to Pakistan? Can that be a possibility or will that be problematic?
P.S. the visa of my son has expired 4 months ago

I applied for my ILR last year but I have not received it yet. So MN1 is still a bit far in pipeline
