OCI Application -- Indian Origin proof

Hi All,

I am indian by birth and recently naturalised as british citizen. I received the indian passport surrender certificate recently and wanted to apply for OCI.

I am not sure what document i can provide to prove my indian origin. Can surrender certificate or my cancelled indian passport be used as proof of indian origin?
