The UKVI call centre has a variety of agents, some of whom clearly seem to make things up as they go along. I’ve spoken to one agent twice who has said reescalating puts the original escalation to the back of the queue again. I have no idea if this is right as none of the other agents have said this and of course, from a cynical point of view is a nice strategy to stop the decision making centre getting repeated escalations.
I cannot day that any of my several calls to the contact centre have added any speed or clarity to this black box process.

Same I have been told reescalating put your application at the back of the qeue

My wife picked her passport today
The bad news the visa refused
Reason not enough evidence
Cause im self employed

Never claimed benefit been in uk for 23 years always payed my taxes
My next step is to reapply after 6 month
Going to try and get a job work 6 month and submit new application
I wish you all of you all the best
If anyone need help let me know i will hrlp you as much as i can
After 7 month experience with HO
I feel very bad the way they break family's apart
I even bought ticket to fly back home next week and bring my wife
Shame on HO and gaverment
Now they put me on bad position i have to give up my well paid job and start looking for a job and i have to pay everything again for new application

If you are 'self employed' then how do you have 'a work'? If you are contracting, then you are not employed by AN Other Company so why would HO call a 'client' courier company.

Did you submit 12 months bank statements/payslips/dividend vouchers/SA302 etc??

Hey Adam am very sorry to hear that. But financial requirement is clear: £18,600 gross income and u will be fine. If u earned that and paid tax for 18600 so provide the HMRC letter and other proof and they will overturn the decision in less than 6 months!
