SET(M) Indefinate leave to remain and claiming benefits.

Post by Aroon123 » Wed Mar 28, 2018 7:39 am

Good Morning.
I have a question. I am a british citizen claiming child/working tax credits. my wife is a moroccan citizen not claiming any benefits, her details were used as part of my application. She is on a spouse visa, she will be applying for her final visa application SET(M) on a 5 year route.
Can I still claim child/working tax credits as I am british, will this effect her application? or is it best for me to call them and cancel these benefits.

I just watned to be clear on this. Thanks a lot.

No it won't affect her application, provided that tax credits is claimed in JOINT names with your spouse.

People who earn £18600 per annum usually do not qualify for Working tax credit , check your calculations with the benefit issuing department to make sure they are correct otherwise serious worst consequences .

Spouse Passport Original Submission in SET M Application

Post by Aroon123 » Sun Jul 22, 2018 3:58 pm

Good Afternoon.

I am going to be submitting by wifes SET M application by post. She is the main applicant of the settlement visa. I am a British Citizen and I will be also submitting my employment details in the application so combined we reach the £18,600 figure.
I wanted to know that do I need to submit my original passport in the postal application as I wanted to use my passport because Iwill be traveling a few weeks after i submit the application by post.?
Is there any other alternative documents I can submit and not my british passport?

Thanks again for your help on this matter.

section 8B SET(M) application question confusion

Post by Aroon123 » Tue Aug 14, 2018 9:40 pm

Good Evening.

I wanted to clarify if section 8b: maintanance needs to be completed in my case.
I am applying for my wifes spouce visa on a 5 year route after July 2012.
me(sponsor british citizen), spouse(applicant non eu) both with our salaries combinedmeet the finacial requirement of £19,500.
me (british citizen) also claims child benefit and child/working tax credits only.
In question 8.9 in section 8b it asks , are you or your partner receiving any public funds - do I still need to complete this question even though it is in section 8b?

Thanks again

Are you claiming tax credits in JOINT names with your spouse or only in your name??

child benefit is in my name (british citizen).
working tax and child tax credit is also in my name - but in the application i had to put her details as it was required so in the claim her emplyment salary is accounted for. I am guessing this will be classified as a joint claim. All benefits only enters my bank account.

You don't need to complete 8B but you can tick the benefits you claim, won't hurt the application.
