Applying for a dependant

Post by cleomad » Fri Sep 07, 2018 6:19 am

I recently got my tier 2 visa and did not add any dependant because I am not married yet. I will be getting married in March next year and need to ask if it is possible to add my wife as a dependant on the cos I will get when I extend my tier 2 visa in July next year. The UK visa website says my wife can only be eligible for to apply for spousal visa when I get permanent residence, but this is absurd because it's like I need to wait for 5 years to stay with my wife. Surely they should be a way for my wife to join me not necessarily having to wait til I get perm residence.

You cannot 'add your future spouse to your CoS'.

Once you are married, you simply apply for a Tier 2 Dependent visa.

You are looking at the wrong category spouse visa.
