Sponsor has received social welfare benefits?

Post by pyke » Mon May 19, 2008 10:45 am

Under the Skilled - Sponsored by a relative, subclass 176, if the sponsor has received social welfare benefits, will it affect the visa application? Haven't really asked her for the details as it's a somewhat private matter but am aware that she has received benefits in the past. Despite that, she successfully sponsored one of her in-laws a few years ago. She doesn't work and her husband has retired. Wouldn't really need support, it's purely for the sake of the application. Just wondering if it makes a difference at all? Thanks!
