Supporting documents for online application

Post by pentatonic » Wed Sep 26, 2018 10:14 pm

Hi all,

I'll be submitting my naturalisation application online and attending an NDRS appointment over the next couple of days. I've just noticed that the online document checklist doesn't mention evidence for English language abilities, which is clearly required. So I thought I would double check with you good people here in case anything else is also missing from the checklist.

I'm applying under Section 6(2) (spouse of British citizen).

Documents prepared:
- My current passport (dates back to 2015)
- My ILR BRP
- My national ID card
- Spouse's current passport
- Marriage certificate
- Life in the UK pass certificate
- UK degree certificate and transcript
- Two completed referee declaration forms with photos attached on each

Thanks!

I had my naturalisation NDRS appointment yesterday. English certificate wasn't listed under my checklist either but I submitted it (NDRS asked it too).

Take your UK degree certificate and transcript regardless.

Thanks all for chipping in. I did bring the degree certificate and transcript to NDRS in the end, but I _think_ I also figured out why those weren't listed in the documents checklist.

One of the questions on the online form is "Have you met the requirement to qualify for settlement on or after 28th October 2013?". If I recall correctly, the text on that page says that if you answer "Yes" then they will accept that you already meet the English language requirement?

I'm assuming that if you answer "No" to that question, then the document checklist will ask for your degree certificate. Either that or there's a long-standing bug in the online checklist.
