Dependent payed for application but visa holder cant

So im the dependent and we were doing our application at the same time and my payment went through but hers didn't(its stuck at processing payment screen) she was advised by the ukvi support to wait a few days or start a new one and ask for refund (we really want to avoid the refunds because it would be a mess). So my question is:

if she starts a new one, should i start a new one as well? since i put her application's GWF number in mine. or can i just add the new GWF in the printed application by hand?
