ILR for Main applicant and Extension for dependants?

Hello Everyone,

Can you anyone please take sometime to read my queries and provide suitable suggestion.

I'm main applicant on a 5 year Tier-2 General visa granted on OCT 23rd, 2014 till OCT 28th 2019 (which is 5 years & 5 days).

Date of Entry to UK: Nov 06th 2014 (basically after 15 days of visa granted).

1) When I will be eligible for to apply for ILR? I mean exactly from which date in OCT 2019? I read it is 28 days before the 5 year completion. Is this 5 year period considered as from the date of visa grant OR from date of first entry to UK?

2) Regarding my dependants (wife and kids) are on Tier 2 PBS dependant - visa granted from SEP 18th 2015 till OCT 28th 2019 ( which is 4 years & 1 month & 10 days)

Which visa has to be applied for my dependants before their visa expiry next year OCT 2019? If it is PBS extension on what basis it has to be extended while I apply for ILR?

1. Day if visa issue.

2. PBS dependent visa. The rules permit this if you get ILR based on pbs route.

Can you please clarify on no. 2 again ."The rule spernit this if you get ILR on pbs route. Sorry I didn't understand this.
