Yes. ALL absences OUTSIDE the UK must be confirmed by your employer

Hi,

I had close to 240 days outside UK (in last 5 years). I wrote to my employer with dates (in a table format) and asked them to certify. But they didnt. Instead they gave me a generic letter which states "ABC is entitled to XX days of Annual Leave per year (including bank holidays) which he has used in each calendar year he has been employed with us. ABC worked remotely from the period of xx/xx/xxxx to xx/xx/xxxx".

They also mentioned about my SOC code, Job Title and other relevant details. I was little hesitant in the beginning but went to the appointment (no other choice rite..) last Saturday and it got approved.

I'm just sharing my experience. Not sure if this letter / information will differ from case to case.

Thanks,

Thanks, that was very useful as I plan to be working remotely for a few days a year too.
