Yes, you must pay council tax, it has nothing to do with your immigration status and if you do not pay, they take you to court.

I have similar case with tax. Stop working last year July. Apply for ILR on 10 years route 2015 and was refused. So, you apply based on child to get your visa? Also, did your child applied with you this time around because my family won their appeal this and visa had been issued, only me remaining now to get mine. Please advise how you did it? Thanks

Hi Monz
Thanks for sharing the details.
As I live near Heathrow so I will probably get my hearing in Hatton Cross court. It is very busy one so I am not sure what time line to expect for the date.
However I contacted my Mp again. They are saying they will contact the tribunal and try to get the date on earliest basis but did say that there is no guarantee. I am little hopeful that I might get the date early.

Hi all,

I was just wondering something about the NHS surcharge.

On our refusal letter we're told that it would be refunded to us but we have actually appealed the decision.

Does it mean they will withhold the money in the meantime?

We haven’t received our IHS back as well .appeal doesn’t matter as we have filed too .our solicitor said sometimes they take few weeks to refund if not than we need to contact them for refund .we ll be contacting them too .

I just realised I made a mistake on my application, instead of putting on my application that I came in with a tier 4 visa I put tier 2. Is that a big problem?

Hi Monz and vini81
In my refusal letter it clearly says that my ihs will be refunded:
If I do not appeal within 14 days or
If I appeal and my appeal is unsuccessful

I think your letter should says the same.

apologies, did your family got visa on child basis? FLR FP (leave to remain 30 months)? If yes i would advise, if you really need it asap, go for PEO/Premium service (although its £400-500 more), take copies of BRP of ur children's, am pretty sure u'll get it same day, do take all other required documents. In my case, i just went for myself, my kids still haven't got any leave, and as we're not travelling, and destitute, not applying.. will b e applying soon.

UPDATE:

The Home Office has reconsidered my FLR (FP) refusal decision (out of country appeal) and have given me an in-country right of appeal. They also restored my Section 3C rights.

Now I have 14 days to appeal. Now starts another long stressful process of getting a competent immigration lawyer, waiting for court date and hoping for a positive outcome.

Good evening house, am a silent reader in this form , congratulations to everyone that have a successful application also I wish everyone who are yet to get their visas all the best.
A quick one, my partner and his two kids applied on a parent route this is the 10th month running; just last week the home office asked for additional documents. I am nervous is a good sign... my partner and I have a child together she is British. I will appreciate if I could get a response.

If you haven't provided documnts proving the child is living with you both, and you and ur prtner are in full responsibility to take care of child.. than they do usually ask for docs such as council tax bills, gp letter that all family residing at same address, school letter again saying some similar. so not sure if u guys sent such documents to them? they usually say what sort of docs they wnt.. hopefully they'll get it.. just do send all required docs
