Hi, what date for the ceremony have you got in your letter? I've got approved on 6/11 and ceremony scheduled for 8/01 Another 2 months. Not funny...

I have called my council and they said till Jan 2019 but i can do private if i can pay £110. I am taking that option

Congratulations. Can you please explain further regarding the private ceremony, what is it exactly and how expensive is it?

So i was asked to call the coucil listed on my approval letter. I did call them on Sat and they gave me Ceremony which is for public for 08/01/2019 but i explored the option of going private just for myself which they asked me to pay £110 i think.

And how soon can the private ceremony be held? Is it like a couple of weeks?

I was told if i book today i can have it tommorrow

Hi Ali,
I have replied yesterday, but it is not showing in here. Yes, I have received my letter!! It was dated 9 November and not 6 November as they said in their email. I have already booked my ceremony. Good luck and be patient. I applied online + JCAP 29 August they received my docs on 6 Sept, so 2 months after receiving the documents they made a decision!!.

Hi guys, is there any contact number to be able to get in touch with the caseworker? They have requested my english test certificate again where i already submitted it and i want to speak with them regarding to it

No you cannot. You are only British once you complete the ceremony and have your certificate which you need for the passport application.

My understanding is no, you are only British once you have attended the ceremony and if I am not mistaken, unless you applied JCAP via Council, you will need your ceremony certificate reference number for your passport application.

No you cannot. You are only British once you complete the ceremony and have your certificate which you need for the passport application.

So, i have received an email from my caseworker this afternoon explaining why i have to retake the english test. Anyway the time that was given to me to resubmit the certificate is 27th nov. My test is booked for the 21st and it takes about a week to receive the certificate. I explained that to my case worker in an email that she might not receive the certificate within the given time and she told me to email her once i pass my english test and she will accept it. I thought it might be usefull if anyone has a similar issue in the future.

No man..email them every week and same answer that is gonna take a while..did you try to send them any email for update?

I received below email from HO. i applied on 28th sept. interesting point is, usually the mention that 'Caseworker will be in touch or the caseworker will decide in 21 days' but non is mentioned in my email. wonder why they have taken so long and no timeframe is given.
