Yes, please let us know. Also, When I called he mentioned that he saw that I had called on 10/30. Apparently that is also kept on record. If they replied to the emails, it would be helpful. I sent 2 inquiries and dis not get a reply. Im just hoping to have my FBR by Christmas. Im glad that Thanksgiving is not a holiday there as it is in the US. 🤣

Sorry, but this just reminds me of an old joke story.

Congratulations to all those who got approved in the past week.

My update is as follows :

8th July: Applied online : 8th July
20th July: Documents Received by London Embassy
7th November : E-mail from DFA requesting clarification re: marriage cert (Grandmother) and additional document
8th November : Additional Documents Sent to DFA in Ireland
12th November: Documents Received by DFA
15th November : E-mail from DFA confirming application approved and forwarded for FBR certificate printing :D

So, assuming I get the certificate and original documents back in early/mid December, about 5 months all in all.

I have taken up the recommendation from PasadenaTom to JPauls on Tuesday and have e-mailed the Irish Embassy in London for an APS2 passport form today to get completed and witnessed before the certificate comes back. Therefore, the certificate can be opened, enjoyed briefly and subsequently returned to the Cork passport office.

Good luck to those on both sides of the Atlantic still waiting to hear.

Congratulations; this gives me hope, my documents were received in the London Embassy on 25th July and I've not received any further requests for information so I'm hoping I'm not too far behind!

Hi All,

Congratulations to all those who have their FBR certificate.

Here is my timeline to date:

25 May: Completed online application and sent docs to London Embassy
30 May: Documents received at London embassy
8 October: Request for further information
9 October: Information provided and application sent off for final approval
8 November: emailed DFA for update
12 November: DFA advise application at advanced stage and that my application was received in June and processing times are 6 months.

Hope to hear some good news in December!

A lot of you have mentioned the DFA requesting more information. What kind of information?

I assumed if I had everything they required that would put me in a good spot to not be asked for further info.

Thanks!

Decided to email the DFA to check up on my application and have got the following response today:
Hi James
Thank you for your query.

Your application has been put forward for approval.

This is the final stage in the process but due to a high volume of applications it will take a number of weeks before it reaches completion.

Kind Regards

Consular Directorate
My documents were received in London on 25th July. Hopefully not long now!

Hi, this is a question regarding an FBR child application.

The FBR website contains the following text:
You need to submit two passport-sized photographs with your application.

Your witness must sign and date these photographs.

If you're applying on behalf of a minor, you also need to submit two passport-sized photographs of yourself. They should also be signed and dated by you and your witness.

This seems to indicate that the applying parent signs and dates their own photograph, along with the witness. And only the witness signs and dates the child’s photos.

However, there are FBR guidelines I found that seem to indicate that the parent signs the child’s photos along with the witness. And only the witness signs the parent photos. https://www.dfa.ie/media/embassylondon/ ... ritain.pdf

Now, these guidelines are pertaining to Great Britain, where this child application is an application from Canada.

Can anyone confirm to me which signatures need to go on which photos? Thanks.

Unsure I’m afraid, the only date I have is the date they were received at the Embassy.

Like sean015, I also received my email that the application and supporting documentation were received on August 3. I have not heard anything further, But I see it as "no news is good news".

My FBR documents were received in Dublin on August 22, so just a couple days after Michael123. I have been monitoring your progress on here and am hoping to receive the FBR's a few days after you. I did submit 2 applications (brothers) in the same envelope, so that might slow down my approval. They did send 2 confirmation emails, so Dublin has both applications. When I receive any news from Dublin I will post an update on here. And Good Luck to all those who have already received their FBR's!

My application was delivered on 8/20 according to fedex tracking ( 2 days before you) but Dublin says it was recieved on 8/21 (1 day before you). I also sent 2 applications in the same package and 2 emails were also received by both applicants, myself and my cousin. Where are you located? Boston here.

Dublin finally replied to my online inquiry via the website.

Hi Michael,

We received your application and documents in our Dublin office on the 21st August 2018

Applications can take up to six months from the time of receipt to process.

Sigh 😔

anyone had any recent updates? My application was sent at the beginning of July. A quick call to the FBR registry office in Dublin the other day informed me that my application was sent to Dublin for final decision on the 9th November (I applied to the London Embassy originally). Any ideas how long it takes from then to get a confirmation of the decision?

Hi brawn401

My application was sent for final approval on 9 October and I asked for an update a couple of weeks back and was told my application was at advanced stage.

I’m at the 6 month stage too.

Hopefully we hear some good news soon.

Mine was submitted for final approval on 9/27. 11/5 they contacted me for new birth certificates. Those were received 11/13 and I was entered on to the register that same day. Assuming I'd sent the right ones in the first place, it would have taken about 5 weeks from the time I was submitted for final approval. Hopefully you're almost there :D
