British Citizenship and documents

Post by dalta41 » Thu Dec 06, 2018 12:21 pm

Hi Gurus,

I am in process to file Form AN via council NCS and wondering what are documents do I need. I am planning to provide below.

1) Filled Form
2) Passport
3) 2 Reference with British passport - Both are director of own limited company
4) Like in UK test number - on my ILR- Jan-2015 have already provided certificate
5) English Language - Do not need to provided anything as already have satisfied in my ILR application in Jan-2015
6) Current address proof
7) Bank Statement
8) Application Fees

Please let me know if I need to provide anything else?

many thanks,
dalta41

2) Passport
You need your ILR BRP card too.
4) Like in UK test number - on my ILR- Jan-2015 have already provided certificate
If you have the test pass letter, you must submit it.
5) English Language - Do not need to provided anything as already have satisfied in my ILR application in Jan-2015
You need to submit your evidence of meeting the English language requirement. HO will most likely write to you and ask for it if you don't submit it.
6) Current address proof
7) Bank Statement
Not required unless you are an EU citizen, which you likely are not if you hold ILR rather than PR.
8) Application Fees
Presumably you have completed the fee leaflet as NCS don't take the payment.

For English language requirement, at time when I satisfied in Jan-2015, my college was displayed on Home office site for PBS calculator and it allowed me to not have naric or take english language test.

Also for online application, Not sure if they will check my documents or not and can keep passport and travelling document.

Also do I need anything else for documents?

many thanks,

You risk HO insisting you provide up to date evidence of meeting the English requirement, i.e. UK NARIC red route assessment or B1 English test and potentially risking a refusal and loss of fee if you don't. PBS Calculator is no longer available or used.
Also for online application, Not sure if they will check my documents or not and can keep passport and travelling document.
If you use the new service, they also check your documents and you get to keep the originals.

Thanks will have look for online then as it is more preferably. also on forum I found sticky and says, one is exempted from english requirement if you met this requirement, on or after 28th October 2013, in order to obtain settlement (ILR or PR)

british-citizenship/faqs-english-langua ... 98118.html

Do I still need to get NARIC?

Also online form has checkbox to say if you have satisfied english requirement on or after 28th October 2013, in order to obtain settlement (ILR or PR)

many thanks,

Yes, there is that point but HO can and do still ask for evidence and can still refuse your application if you do not submit it, many members have this request or a refusal for not submitting.

For the sake of £150 for NARIC or the test as the cost the same, do you want tor risk losing £1349??

You need the medium of instruction letter as well probably.

It is quicker to do the B1 test which only takes 10/20 minutes.

You cannot apply for the joint citizenship and passport scheme anymore. You will have to wait till you have attended your ceremony before you can apply for the passport.

Note that for NCS, you have to use the paper form.

If you are using the new application system, you have to use the online form.

Hi CR001,

thanks again, I took your advice and decided to go with online application and with NARIC, just waiting for NARIC Red route to comeback.

Hi CR001,

Before applying was reading AN_Guidence and came across below, I am director of LTD and 80% shareholder as well, Should I include Self Assessment?

Self-employed applicants
If you do not pay tax through Pay As You Earn (PAYE) arrangements, we require the
most recent HM Revenue & Customs Self-Assessment Statement of Account.

Also received PND on May-2010 and have let home office know on all applications since, Should I need to include cover letter explaining it?

many thanks
