UKVCAS appointment booking nightmare

Post by johnhkg » Mon Dec 10, 2018 3:45 pm

Totally pathetic situation. I just submitted my online application and was transferred to UKVCAS website. I could not find any available appointments at Reading or Wimbledon for the coming 14 days. No option to choose dates beyond that. Is this a joke or what? Now booked into Croydon next week. Some dates available this week if needed.

Totally agree. I chose to use the priority service in my UKVI application, but this doesn't give me any special treatment at UKVCAS. I'm simply unable to book an appointment within 5 days, which is a prerequisite for the priority service to work as it should.

I was actually unsure about the new service when I paid for my application, but UKVCAS doesn't show you the availability until you have paid the money.

The only thing you can do now is to do a thorough search of all the service points. (You have to try different postcodes to see those in other cities. Only the two nearest service points, plus one "core" and one "premium" service points, are shown.) For those who haven't paid the visa fee, my recommendation is to use the existing service if possible.

Sashia, could I ask which existing service you are referring to? Thanks
