Re:Going abroad while spouse visa application on progress

Post by bigben1982 » Thu Dec 06, 2018 8:51 am

Hi Forum experts,

Quick question.

I am flying back home next week.
Would you recommend me to let HO knows that I am leaving UK for a month?
If yes, what's the best way to contact them please?

I would like to let them know just in case if they try to contact me while I am away.

You can email the UKVI and let them know. Until a decision is made as a precaution I would not recommend going abroad unless it's an emergency, just in case UKVI need to contact you. Others will tell you otherwise but that is my personal judgement.

Hi Seagul and Londoner007,

I hope you both are keeping well. Many thanks for replying me.

My dad is not feeling well.

I thought about getting roaming and letting them know via e-mail that I will be away.

Can I get the e-mail address please?

You should definitely not be afraid from UKVI call to cancel your plan of holidays/visiting your home country. Because even within UK you may miss UKVI call when you are on work, toilet, driving, shopping etc. However, going away from UK for very long time during the application process is not wise. Just switch on your roaming.

Re: Spouse visa-Telephone interview by HO

Post by bigben1982 » Wed Dec 12, 2018 8:03 am

Sorry for the late update experts.
To be honest I just got back to normal life after facing the shock of my life.

I knew HO may call me sometimes but last Sunday early morning 9am I received a call from an unknown no and that's from HO.

I was so nervous 😩 and terribly made a biggest mistake I guess.

I said the employer name incorrectly. Not the same name what was written on the application form.I mean I work for NHS.This hospital is a famous hospital and people call it like xx or xxxx like that.
I mentioned the address correctly.
She said it's the final stage of the process and I will hear the decision in a week or 2 but not guaranteed.

Questions are,
First name dob
Mrs first name dob
Marriage date
Employment:
How did you get this job?
When did they offer you?
When you started?
Employer name
Employer address
How did you find about this job?
How did you fill the application?Online
NHS jobs website
Why they gave you this job?
Your experience?
What you do at work?
Job start date
Get paid hourly?
Is it in a private building?
Is it a large company?
Are you related to anyone at work?
Your Mrs related to anyone at work?
How many people working with you?
Department?
Colleagues names?
Job title?
Job description?
Current salary?
Work hours?
How many hours you work?
Monday-Friday?

When did you go to work last time?
When will you go to work again?

When do you get salary?
How do you get salary?

I hope this update will be a bit of help for others.

Very much stressed after that interview.I was completely shaken. They haven't call the employer yet.

I really want them to call my employer. Then HO will believe I work there.

Are you directly employed by hospital (NHS) or work for agency/subcontractor.

Very straightforward questions - looks like they wanted further clarification on employment

Hi Londoner007,hope you are doing well.
Ofcourse straightforward questions but you know people get nervous when unexpected things happen.
My hospital name can also be identified by saying 1 word of the hospital name. This is what went wrong in my case.I didn't say the exact name what was written on the application.

Hope I will get through this.

Answering all of that out of the blue at 9am on a Sunday, and simply using your name for the hospital rather than it's full official name, I think you did well. Do you imagine people who work for say the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital state it's name in full every time they refer to it? I don't.

Hi forum experts,
Hope you all are doing well.

3 weeks almost over since my phone interview.
UKVI didn't contact my employer yet.

Landline no for HR is a common one.HR personnel who gave me employer letter was off on the 1st week only.No one at HR received UKVI calls yet.

Also provided mobile no and email for that particular HR personnel. No contacts made.

Completing 10th week today since applied online.

What should I do?
I didn't make any contacts with UKVI since applied.

Please kindly advice me.

I don't think there is anything to do; you just wait. We're 2+ months in and nothing also, that's how it is.

My wife received an e-mail on Friday: 'Dear Applicant, We would like to inform that your passport is ready to be collected at the UK Visa Application Centre [continues with opening times, ID requirements etc].

It doesn't say if the application has been approved/rejected. At this point months in, frankly I think we're both feeling pretty dazed by the whole process. But fingers crossed...

JonnoGB,

Thanks for the update. I am absolutely frustrated. This wait is too much.

2nd of Jan we sent an e-mail requesting an update. Same day received an e-mail saying that the application is considered and waiting for a decision. Also advising us to send few details about the applicant only after 60 working days passed.

Online submission 19/10/2018.We are nearly there catching 60th working day. I will chase with them beginning of next week.

Atleast you are going to get a decision.Hopefully it's going to be a good news for you.

The impression I got was they didn't do much with the application until quite recently when they asked a couple of questions. When they say 'up to 60 working days', I think that's what to expect, there seems no incentive for them do issue it sooner - except, perhaps, if you had paid the huge premium for a 'priority' application, which I declined to do.

If I were you I'd try and hold off asking for updates from them. I doubt they'll welcome it and I cannot see that it will help or change anything.

JonnoGB,

Did you get the outcome that you wished for?

I am just expecting an e-mail today from HO just because today is the 60th working day.More likely they will inform me that it's not a straight forward application.

Hi forum experts,

Spouse visa application of my wife reached 60 working days limit.

My question is, does HO sends non straightforward application e-mail for every one when they hit 60 days limit?

I haven't got one yet.

Please kindly advice me.

Re: Spouse visa-Documents collection response received from UKVI

Post by bigben1982 » Sat Jan 19, 2019 10:20 am

Received an update from UKVI yesterday saying that the documents are arrived at the visa application centre for collection.

Applied online-19/10/2018

It took almost 3 months.

We will find out the decision coming Monday.

I am glad at this moment because at least we are going to get a positive or negative result after a long wait.

Will update with you guys Monday.

It's not pleasant how they're keeping you on edge BB; telling you a decision is coming in x-days vs just waiting a day or two and telling you the result. Sheesh....

I'm pleased to say that my wife's application was approved. As previously mentioned she had, in my opinion, a simple straight-forward profile, as do I, yet it still ran right up to the '60 working days' estimated limit.

ps. There was a very interesting radio programme just recently on BBC Sounds > http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0002242 about a professional UK<>Asian couple who went through this same process, Much of it rings true.

Best of luck to you BB!

Hi Forum experts,

After putting enormous amount of effort preparing Spouse visa application of my Mrs,I am so glad to say my Mrs Spouse visa application has been approved.

Londoner007,Seagul and CR001,thanks a lot for all your support throughout this application process.

It took exactly 3 months since the biometrics submission to receive this visa.

HO interviewed only me over the phone on a Sunday early morning. They didn't contact my employer at all. So strange, maybe my employer is one of the NHS.
Maybe, that's why they didn't phone them for further verification.

Thanks JonnoGB for staying in touch with me in the last few months. Congratulation to you aswell!
