Basically I am in the same boat as many others, in that we have now been waiting for over three months. I have been receiving standard responses every month by email saying the application is under consideration.

Two weeks ago we went to see our local MP at his constituency office to see if they could expedite the process - we have two young children and were planning to go to Brazil for christmas but we’re obviously in limbo. The lady we spoke to basically said they would ask UKVI the question and would put our case forward but that it would be very unlikely that the process would move forward quicker!

The next day I received an email from my MP stating that UKVI had responded with a statement that there had been activity on my application and that they were asking for more details.

Earlier today I received another response from my MP as per the following:
“the relevant team who in light of your correspondence have agreed to expedite this application and make a decision as soon as possible. However, if they require further information they will contact Ms xxx direct.

Please contact me again if Ms xxx has not heard anything in the next 10 days.”

My main point being, regardless of who your MP is and whether you believe their views (mine is xxxxxxxx... ergggh), use them to try to apply pressure - thay are your representative. It looks like it may have worked for us and can’t do any harm!

was sending premium upgrade emails 4 times a week at 8:00 for 2 months from middle of September without any result.
Seems I have complicated case, a lot of business trips and 4 months unpaid leave in 2014 related with the death of close relative.

This is such a massively frustrating process. I wrote to my local MP last week and all I got was a generic response that 'a case worker' confirmed that my application was still being considered and because the general guidelines mention a 6 month processing time, that February 2019 is when I could possibly receive a decision.

I am applying with two dependents needing second extension, we enrolled the biometrics at the same time. My solicitor helped us sent out the applications. My case is straight forward as well the only reason we involved the solicitor is that we needed it to be more secure . It is nice to feel not alone here. Hope we all get good results soon.
