Can I apply for tier 4 visa if rejected from tier 2 partner visa?

Hi, I'm just wondering if it is possible to apply for a tier 4 student visa if I don't receive a tier 2 partner visa that I am applying for? I already have acceptance into a postgraduate program that can sponsor a tier 4 visa. My long-time girlfriend is the tier 2 holder.

Also, would I have to wait any amount of time before applying for the tier 4 visa if I get rejected from tier 2 partner visa?

I very much appreciate your help, I am trying to plan the next 3-9 months with work and travel and moving.

In case if your Tier 2 Dependant visa is declined, you can apply for Tier 4 if you have CAS from a sponsor.

There is no such waiting time for applying for a new visa after knowing your visa refusal. It is advisable to study the reasons for refusal clearly and have a discussion with a specialist immigration advisor and apply for new visa as soon as possible.

@Sah10406 - I am concerned about getting approved for the Tier 2 dependent visa because as someone coming from the US where civil partnership takes 10 years, I am surprised living with my girlfriend for 2-3 years grants us these privileges in the UK. I do intend on getting married to her in the next few years and we are in a genuine relationship. We have a lease together for 3 years and renters insurance policy. Plus bank statements mailed to our address. But we do not have a shared bank account.
