possibly moved to stage 2?

Post by lolo82 » Sat Jan 19, 2019 12:10 pm

I recently emailed the citizenship dept to ask if they had an average wait time and also if my application was only hold while I sent additional info.

reading their reply, I'm not if I've moved to stage 2 without a letter or if they are just outlining the next steps:

"Dear Lolo82

I refer to your e-mail below.

All applications for naturalisation are processed in chronological order to
ensure, as much as possible that all applications are treated equally.
Processing commences once you application is received and registered.

Your application is currently being processed with a view to establishing
whether it meets the statutory conditions for the granting of
naturalisation
, such as good character and lawful residence, and will be
submitted to the Minister for decision as expeditiously as possible."

am I over thinking the reply?

I am in same boat. I rang on Thursday to ask about update on my application as i applied in jan 2017. Lady on the phone told me my application has passed the second stage waiting to send my file in next batch to minister. I asked I didn’t get second stage letter she didn’t gave me answer to this question and said again your application has crossed second stage. I think they send approvel sometimes without second stage letter.

The response you got is a generic response. I got that each time I enquired about my application. I didn’t get a second stage letter until after 8 months. Three weeks from the second stage letter I received my approval.

No this is not a stage 2 letter. Stage 2 means that they have confirmed that you satisfy the statutory requirement.
