BRP Not Received at the Post Office

Post by monushh » Fri Feb 24, 2017 6:10 pm

Hello All,

My wife and son got their visas approved (Out of Country application).

As per UKVI the BRPs can only be collected in UK within 10 days of arrival.

My wife got the BRP but the post office guys couldn't find my son's and mentioned they never received it.

At the application centre in India, the authorities didn't take my son's finger prints, mentioning that its not needed. However, they took only facial photographs.

Can someone advise if this some kind of mess up by home office or is it going to be posted later on or something else?

Many thanks.

Let the HO know

https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence-permits/collect

Use the "report now" button at the bottom of the page.

Thank you.

Please can you advise, will there be a problem if HO doesn't get back to me before the deadline?

As I understand the BRP needs to be collected within 10 days of arrival into the UK.

No, there shouldn't be an issue as how can you collect something that is not there. Have you checked with the PO again?

Not yet, as we were there on Friday last week and it wasn't there.

But now we have raised the issue via the above link.

Do you think we should wait for the reply from HO or should we keep checking with PO pro-actively?

Thank you.

Just now we received an email reply from HO as below:

Good Morning,

Thank you for your enquiry.

You will not receive a BRP as your visa is valid for less than 6 months

Accordingly, you should use the Entry Clearance vignette you have been issued in your passport to enter the UK and evidence of your right to be here.

If you feel that the leave you have been issued is incorrect, please use the reporting tool available at: https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence- ... rt-problem

Please do not reply to this e-mail.

Thank you

I do not understand why do they think the visa is valid less than 6 moths where as the main applicant's visa is valid until 26th March 2018?

The vignette visa issued for my son is going to expire on 10/03/2017, therefore, he should have some kind of visa to stay in this country beyond that.

Please can you advise?

Thank you.
