When to start my resignation from my current employer?

Hello Everyone,

I am here confused and hope you guys can help me out. I finally got sponsored from a UK firm and I have a 2 month notice period from my current employer. So my question is when is the best time to quit? after I receive my COS or after I receive my visa from the embassy? shall I inform my future employer to expect me 2 months after I receive my visa? what do you guys suggest? thank you all

Where are you working at the moment?

I am currently working in my home town not in the UK.

It does not matter when you resign then, as long as you come to UK to work from your start date

Thank you but this is not the answer I was looking for.

You can't expect members/strangers on the internet to tell you when you think is best to resign. This is entirely up to you and your circumstances and whether you UK sponsor will wait and what date they you have to start per what is stated in your CoS.

The general advice we give is not to resign from a job (in the UK or abroad) until you have a visa in hand. Having a CoS does not guarantee that you will be approved for a visa.

Thank you I am so much relieved by your answer. Because I was so unsure when to resign and having doubt what if my visa got rejected. thank you moderator.
