Few important questions-British naturalisation

Post by bigben1982 » Mon Feb 11, 2019 1:25 pm

Hi Forum experts,

First of all thanks to all your support so far.

I am going to submit my naturalisation application in a week time.

Could some please advice me?

1. I moved to UK on a tourist visa in June 2007.That was the time my long term residency started. Based on that,I got my ILR in May 2017.
The application says I need to enter the days out of UK details for the period last 5 years only.
Am I ok if I mention only the travels details since January 2014?

2.Referees should not be related to the applicant or the other referee. Are they talking about blood relationships?
I am a bit confused here because my both referees are my ex-colleagues.
We all 3 worked together in NHS for the period June 2012-August 2016.Am I ok to keep them as my referees?

1. Citizenship is ot a repeat of ILR and is based on the last 5 years as the form asks.

2. Not related by blood or through marriage.

1. Citizenship is not a repeat of ILR and is based on the last 5 years as the form asks.

2. Not related by blood or through marriage. One referee must be British and over 25. The other must be a professional per the official HO list and can be any nationality and over 25.

Hi CR001,

Thanks for the clarification.

Say if HO not going to accept a referee's profession, will they request for another one or refuse the application?

Most likely. Best to get it right first time round to avoid delays.

Hi forum experts,

Couple more questions about the documents.

I will be submitting,

1.New and old passport covering my entire life in UK

2.Current biometric ID

3.Life in the UK test original certificate

4.Referee declaration x2

5.UK degree certificate

Do I have to add anything else to prove life in the UK& proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions?

By Biometric ID I assume you mean your ILR BRP card, which is your 'free from immigration time restriction' evidence!

For residence, it is only your passport(s) needed.

Hi Forum experts,

I submitted my online application for naturalisation yesterday.

I already received the acknowledgement visa e-mail today including a case ref.no.

I have biometrics appointments booked for next week.

I would like to ask you,

1. Do I have to upload the documents before going for appointment? I paid £35 for the documents checking service.

2.Do I have to scan and submit referee forms as well on this new service?

3.After appointment or before appointment,I have to send hard copies of my documents including all passports to the home office?

4.Which address please to send all the hard copies to Home Office?

3.After appointment or before appointment,I have to send hard copies of my documents including all passports to the home office? No requirement if you are using the new service to post originals to HO. This is the whole point of the new service, you keep hold of your originals.

4.Which address please to send all the hard copies to Home Office? Not relevant.

Re:British naturalisation-Cancelling UKVCAS appointment

Post by bigben1982 » Tue Feb 26, 2019 8:49 am

Hi forum experts,

I have to attend my UKVCAS appointment this Friday. The referees signed forms are on the way to my address.

Just in case if I don't receive the posts by Thursday, I may have to cancel the appointment and book another one.

1) If I do that, will I lose the money paid for document checking service?

2)Will I have to cancel the appointment before a certain period of time to avoid any cancellation charges?

Please kindly let me know.

Totally confused-British naturalisation application

Post by bigben1982 » Mon Mar 18, 2019 10:03 am

Hi forum experts,,
I already applied for naturalaistion last month via UKVCAS.

I scanned and uploaded all the supporting documents online.

When I went to biometrics submission,UKVCAS didn't check any documents but they only scanned few pages of my current passport and uploaded on UKVCAS website.

I am so confused now because going through the timeline,I do see people applying by post in February as well as sending documents via post to Home office.

1.Do I have to send all my supporting documents via post to Home office?

2.Applying by post still exists or what?

Please kindly let me know.

NO!!
2.Applying by post still exists or what?
It does but you have NOT opted for that service as you used UKCVAS.

There is nothing you need to do now but wait to hear back from HO.
