Finally received my wife's BRP with NiNo printed. FYI, it's all done without us having to apply for NI number separately.

Nearly took 2 months extra time (compared to my BRP) due to NI number 🙄
Hi,

Did you receive any email from Home Office or DX when the BRP was finally dispatched?

Thanks!

No, however, we missed the delivery, so the delivery guy dropped a note with a tracking number and instructions on how to rebook the delivery.

After a couple of days they sent a reminder letter in the post as well. Looks like it was an automated letter as I rebooked the delivery and received the BRP by the time the reminder letter arrived).

Ok. Thanks for your response. Good to know.

It would have been good if the HO sent a notification about the dispatch, sply considering the long wait. But well...

You can contact HO via https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence- ... ot-arrived if your application is delayed beyond their stated timelines... and they would provide you with DX tracking number if it's at that stage, i.e. BRP ready and with DX courier folks.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

Yes thanks srsw.

I used that link a few days back and got a response explaining the requirement of NiNo on BRP and that I should expect to receive the BRP in the next 15 working days.
I am guessing they won't respond if I reach out before this 15 working days window.

15 working days is a long time- 3 weeks. Don't want to miss the courier if it is actually dispatched in this window.

Yeah they may not respond and moreover may not have any new update if you contact before 15 days.

The other thing you could do is after a few days contact DX courier and check if they have any delivery outstanding. You have to provide them with name and address in their web form and they respond next day or two.

Hi guys,

don't wait for 15 days and keep chasing them by mails because based on priority they might send some escalations against the teams causing the delays within home office.

and alternatively you can contact local MP office by writing email and they can raise en-queries for you to Home office.

I am telling this based on my experience.

Thanks,
Lovaraju.

Hi mrlovaraj,

Thanks for this. Could you let me know the email address that you contacted for following up on this?
I'll try doing that. I'll also try reaching out to my local MP.

Thanks!

I'm the main applicant and my BRP delivery has also been delayed due to NINo verification. I received my decision letter on 1 December 2018, have been waiting since then. Not sure how long its going to take! I had applied for the priority 10 day service which said my BRP will be with me within 7-10 working days.
Not sure whats causing the delay, since I submitted my existing NINo.
If you already have NiNo and mentioned it in the application then the delay maybe for other reasons. In our cases dependent (spouse) didn't have NiNo previously hence the delay.
The delay was because my existing NINo had not been verified by the DWP (that's what they told me in their email).
Glad you received your BRP, any idea when was it sent out for delivery by the HO? I received a response from them last week (4 working days ago) saying my BRP has been produced and will be dispatched for delivery within 3-5 working days. Not sure how long its going to take now.

They tried to deliver on 2nd Jan, but we were out around that time.
Date of issue on BRP was 27th Dec, so we received it within 5 working days of BRP being printed. I booked courier re-delivery when we came back on 4th evening (Friday), and they delivered on the next business day, i.e. 7th Jan (Monday).

Alright, also they misinformed me...my NINo is still pending for verification with the DWP

Hi all,
I am as well facing similar problem and waiting for spouse BRP. Below is the timeline.

26th September - filed the extension application with Home Office
29th September - Completed biometrics
08th Nov - received approval letter
17th Nov - received my BRP

I raised request in Home office website on 15th Jan and waiting for reply. Has anyone received spouse BRP recently who applied for extension around the same date?

You should've received it by now.

We are in the same situation here. I applied for me and my family mid September. Received approvals (for everyone), documents and BRP for me and my son but not my wife. That was on 30 October. So far nothing. Been emailing HO every 15 working days as instructed since then and I get the same copycat response about the NIN. Very frustrating to be locked in the UK for 4 months now giving that we applied for 1 year visa extension.

Hi Rishkrb07,
Congratulations on your BRP delivery.
May I know when you said:

"Date of 2nd Complaint - 21 Jan 19
Escalation done - 24 Jan 19"

did you mean:
- you reported your BRP not arrived as normal (i.e. by using the link https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence- ... ot-arrived) and the Home Office replied to you on 24th of Jan to say your matter was solved
- or you used other link to make escalation?

If the latter one, do you mind sharing the link?
Many thanks,

ttnEgham Thank you
Yes I used the same link as you mentioned.
When I made 2nd complaint that I have not got the BRP, they themselves escalated (mentioned in their reply email) to the concerned department stating that the 15days stipulated time has elapsed.

Hi guys,
Finally I got my BRP!!!
Application date: 28/11/2018
Biometrics taken: 04/12/2018
Approval date: 19/12/2018
1st complaint: 07/01/2019: reply got on 09/01/2019: delay due to general "technical issue", no timescale was given.
2nd complaint: 14/01/2019: reply got on 16/01/2019: delay now due to "NI confirmation with Department of Work and Pension". However, I was told to wait for another 15 working days since the reply.
Sending email to my local MP: 18/01/2019. Caseworker in MP helped me to write to the Home Office on 21/01/2019. The Home Office replied to the MP on 08/02/2019 as they can reply within 20 working days. Essentially their answer to the MP is they were doing their best and no timescale was given.
3rd complaint: 21/01/2019: reply got on 24/01/2019: same as above, but this time the Home Office didn't say any thing about timescale.
4th complaint: 01/02/2019: reply got on 05/01/2019: the Home Office said that they would escalate internally as 15 working days were over. On 06/01/2019, I got another reply from BRP NINO team to say they had contacted DWP re my NINO confirmation. I replied to this email and attached the confirmation letter received from HMRC (DWP) re my NINO confirmation (got it from my gov.uk account) with the hope it would facilitate the process.

I sent so many complaints as I have to move out of my current accommodation asap and travel outside UK soon.

Finally on 08/02/2019, the Home Office said they got confirmation from DWP and my BRP had been produced. I got it today, so after only 2 working days.

Lessons learnt:
- check what HMRC has re your NI details in their system: check your name (must be identical to your application) & your NI number in there. Sounds silly, but hey!
- get help from you MP.
- send complaints every week if you are so desparate! My 2nd complaint was only 1 week after the first one and my 15 working days began from when they replied to me the second time. Without doing that, perhaps I would still need to wait.

All the best ^^

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your experience. By NINO confirmation do you mean you didn't have your NINO before application and they had to assign a new one to you from DWP, or they had to confirm your existing NINO with DWP? I'm the main applicant of Tier 2 (FLM) and I didn't have my NINO before my applicaition. It's been 9 working days since the day dated on HO official approval letter but I still haven't received my BRP. Not sure if this delay is caused by no NINO... Do you have any idea on my next plan of action?

Hi Acelyn.

Im having the same issue. Which is so sad. It worries me so badly thinking that I also have travel outside UK soon.

I got the home office letter in Jan 15,2019 but up to now, my brp is still out of nowhere.

Just want to ask where did you do your 3rd complaint, is it still on the online link?

Thank you for your help really.

@Acelyn: I do have my NINO before my Tier 2 application. They need to confirm my existing NINO with DWP. I hope it will be easier if you don't have NINO as they will just create a new one for you.

@Patrick87: I just use the same link as the first complaint. I suppose Home Office will check in the system to see how long you have been waiting for your BRP and act accordingly.

Hi,

I have received approval for my dependent extension ICT Tier 2 but have not received the BRP. My question is, can I travel outside UK without any issues and without putting my visa status at risk? My wife can receive it and send it by courier afterwards. Please let me know if it is illegal.

Thanks in advance.
