Seems that others at the moment have been getting their residence cards very soon after the COA, fingers crossed this is just taking a little longer due to the complexity of the application.

I called the Home Office today because it's been 2 weeks since submitting my application and I have not received a confirmation email. The lady said that a confirmation email is not guaranteed and if payment is taken they are busy processing your application. She suggested that if I would like to get further confirmation that I should write to the Home Office (same address as my application) to request confirmation. It is not necessary though, they will still continue with the application either way. She said I can follow up again if I don't receive my biometric letter (non-EU) within 6 weeks of the payment being taken. I am really hoping a get the letter before that!!
