British Citizenship Checklist (AN form)
Hi All,
My wife recently received her ILR and we are now starting the process of applying for her Citizenship. She doesn't need to wait 12 months since I am a British Citizen.
Our understanding is that the documents below are required. We wanted to confirm we haven't missed anything out as the amount of evidence seems very little compared to the ILR application.
- Applicant's passport
- Spouse British passport
- Marriage Certificate
- BRP
- Life in the UK test
- Council Tax bill to show proof of living in the UK
- UK degree certificate to show proof English language
- 2 x referee declarations
Many thanks in advance,
SoS

Re: British Citizenship Checklist (AN form)
List is fine excep Council Tax bills not required - as ILR holder wife's passport(s) with stamps in/out are sufficient proof of residence.

Do you need 3 years cohabitation evidence?
Thank you
Thank you

1. You should start your own topic instead of tagging onto other members threads.
2. Cohabiation evidence is NOT required for British citizenship.

Re: British Citizenship Checklist (AN form)
Hi,
Just submitted application and got an appointment next month. We are in the process of uploading documents and had a few questions:
1. Applicants and Spouse passports - I assume these does not need to be uploaded as they will use the passport scanner at the visa centre?
2. Can the applicants passport be used for several items on the checklist i.e. proof of living in the UK and evidence of identity?
3. What document is best to use for proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions?
Thanks,
SoS

2) Upload once even if it satisfies two things
3) BRP - ILR
