Spouse of an Irish National Application TIMELINES ONLY

Post by Waitingonstamp4 » Wed Feb 06, 2019 1:23 pm

Hey everyone,

I was just curious if people on this forum who have had to go through/currently go through the 12 month waiting time for the Spouse of an Irish National application could take a minute to fill out the below timeline?

Application received On/Acknowledgement Letter:
Date second Letter requiring re-submission of documentation:
Data you received Approval letter:
Where you granted a temporary Stamp 4 while waiting for the application to be processed?:

In my case this would be:

Application received On/Acknowledgement Letter: 28/06/2018
Date second Letter requiring re-submission of documentation: Haven't yet.
Data you received Approval letter: Haven't yet
Where you granted a temporary Stamp 4 while waiting for the application to be processed?: No

Thanks!

I'm a UK citizen (living in Ireland 29yrs)
Application based on being married to an Irish born national for 19yrs applied February 2018.
Return of passport and receipt of application fee February 2018.
I haven't received anything else since still waiting. I emailed them two or three times but just keep getting a generic responses, I'm hoping that I'm not being punished for Brexit.

I wouldn't imagine they would be biased against you over Brexit.

Did you receive a temporary visa while you wait?

Please keep me posted if you hear anything from them! :)

Similar to yourself, UK passport holder living in Irl 18 years, applied end of October and sent in more info end of November, the passport was returned quick enough but heard nothing back other than generic responses to emails.

I didn't apply as Spouse of Irish National, but I have a bit of data on the application times based on posts in the other timeline threads.

28 applications that were approved
- 68% approved within 1 year
- 93% approved within 2 years
- average approval 322 days after application
- maximum time to approve 914 days after application

16 Applications that are still waiting
- oldest of someone who is still active on the forum is 830 days since application

Thank you so much for the info!

That’s terrifying that somebody is still waiting over two years for it.
I don’t think myself and my husband could afford to wait that long - the financial strain of only one income has been tough. I’ll just have to hope to get a little lucky I guess.

Thanks again.

It's hard to say how long it might take... if you are a "straightforward" case it might be quick. Some examples:
  • Applicant from April 2018 approved in 98 days
  • Applicant from March 2018 approved in 159 days
  • 3 applicants in Feb 2018 approved in 259, 262, 285 days
  • 5 applications before those all took around 520 days

Thanks for the information - I’m hoping that we would be a straightforward case since we were able to provide all necessary documentation that they required.

We got our acknowledgment letter on the 5th of July 2018.

Have you heard of any applications being processed after this date by any chance?

Thanks.

I can't see anyone who applied after you who has been approved yet

I think original poster means Stamp 4 because she is married to an Irish Citizen and not Citizenship. Correct?

My answers are about Citizenship... therefore not relevant if it's just residence permission

Yes I was referring to the stamp 4 residency. Sorry for the confusion.

Hey Everyone,

I’m just wondering if anyone out there have been in contact with INISsoin about what month of applications they are currently processing?

Any news would be appreciated - this wait is getting tougher and tougher.

It looks like everyone above thought this topic was for timelines for citizenship based on spouse of Irish citizen rather than applying for stamp4 on basis of being married to an Irish citizen.

Hi Jacyboy,

Have you heard anything from INIS yet?
