Tier 4 Student getting Married to UK citizen, in USA.

Post by evh » Tue Mar 19, 2019 4:31 am

Hi,

I know I am allowed to get married to a UK citizen on a tier 4 visa, but I am just wondering if I have to do anything with asking permission in UK if he and I are flying to my home in the USA for the marriage. Does anyone know the process?

Thank you!

Any conditions and requirements of your UK visa have no bearing on anything you do outside the UK.

If you change your name after you marry, you will need to report it as a change of circumstances:

However if you are returning to the UK with your spouse, it would be best to do that on the relevant visa, not with a Tier 4 visa anyway. It's not the subject of this forum, but see https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/partner-spouse
