Tier 2 Visa Application Query

Hi,

I got my Tier 2 RCoS approval and I am in the process of applying my visa application. I have few doubts in the visa application. Please can you help.

1. Shortage Occupation list
Is your job with (Employer Name) on the shortage occupation list?
YES or NO
----I am not sure what to select this---
2. Overseas criminal record checks
Have you reviewed the guidance on professions that require an overseas criminal record check ?
YES or NO
My SoC code is 2139 - I believe I am not required to submit any criminal record certificate hence I need to select NO right.

Please can some one help.

Have you asked your sponsor or checked your RCoS??

SOC 2139 is listed on both the non shortage list (appendix J) and the shortage list (appendix K) but is depends enormously on what your job is and whether RLMT was required whether it is shortage or non shortage.

Yes, my employer did the RLMT for that role - SOC 2139.

Hence I thought that it will be YES. Please can you advice.

It would be NO as RLMT was required. RLMT is NOT required for shortage occupation jobs, which you don't appear to be.

It would indicate on the COS whether it was for a shortage occupation list. Not all 2139 jobs are Shortage Occupation.

Cyber security specialist employed by a qualifying company, where the job requires a person with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience and demonstrable experience of having led a team.

Only if you satisfy this criteria (and your company is a qualifying company), you can be considered a shortage occupation applicant
