We got through on the phone after a few tries and were told 'Unfortunately there is no update on this application'. Didn't have the heart to ask any questions after hearing that so just hung up the phone. Why there is no update even after 15 months on a straightforward application is beyond me.

Congratulations to the people who've gotten their approvals. Looks like we have another 6-8 month wait ahead of us for no apparent reason.
Have you tried your local TD? I know the frustration, hopefully your wife get hers soon.

We haven't contacted the TD yet as we were hopeful for the April ceremony (part of me is still hopeful but that's just being naïve). We'll start looking at options now to understand what is happening with her application. My whole family are Irish nationals other than my wife. Our kids are all born Irish and we are here for almost 8 years so its quite frustrating that it's taking so long to sort out her application. I was getting an opportunity to work on an overseas assignment with my company but I am unable to take that up since my wife can't leave Ireland for more than 6 weeks pending her application for citizenship and I won't leave her alone here with young kids to look after. If only these people in INIS knew how much their decisions effect people's life!

Mine is also straightforward case. It’s been almost 2 years now but still waiting. I was told my application is with Minister and all the similar stories like others on this forum and they all got approval who applied in Oct 2017 and I applied in April 2017 but didn’t hear anything from them. I am still waiting without any reason. My children are also Irish and my hubby is also Irish by naturalisation. It’s very frustrating and I am very disappointed at this time that my application is still with Minister. I don’t get it at all. Just praying and that’s all we can do.

If that's what she said, you should receive your approval letter no later than tomorrow (as there was a batch sent yesterday).
If you didn't receive any letter on Thursday, make sure you call them and ask about the status again. Surely the minister won't leave your application for 8 months and sign it in August. If he has it, he will sign it now.

I aplied in March 2018 and got my approval letter in early Aug last year which was also asking for €950, GNIB and pics in 10 days to catch the next ceremony (which was held in Nov). I could not send in 10 days as i was on holidays (sent end of Aug), so i got no invite to the Nov ceremony. I am not sure if they will invite me to the April 29 ceremony either  I am not sure if they prioritize invitations as per the application date, rather than the approval dates. Because there is a huge queue here for ceremonies as well.
Any idea?

Just email them and ask. Some people in the same situation as yours emailed them and they replied they were “considering” including them in the April ceremony. Make sure your GNIB is valid (if you sent one).

Good morning everyone,
Did anyone receive the invitation to the ceremony? in the webpage of INIS they mentioned "You will receive an invitation to your ceremony by post about 4 or 5 weeks before it is scheduled to occur."
Thanks

Nothing yet this side - it’s 4 weeks 4 days not including the ceremony day, so they must be out next week I’d say

I applied November 2017 based on spouse of Irish National. Straight forward application & after a good few emails I got approval letter dated 20 March 29. Posted out 950,gnib & photos Saturday 23 received Tuesday 26 as I used registered post.
I rang them today & lady on the other side said my docs show received & in my file for certification approval & that the only corespondence I’ll get would be an invite letter with the receipt of payment. She could not confirm if I’ll make April’s ceremony but said more than likely I would as my application is dated 2017. So fingers crossed I’ll get brown envelope in next coming week.
Good luck to all.

Just received the following correspondence via email:
Dear xxx,

Your documents have been received and you will be scheduled to attend a Citizenship Ceremony due to take place on 29/04/2019 in Killarney. Further
details on this Ceremony can be found on our website
http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/inis/pages/citizenship . This office will be in touch with you in this regard in due course.

Regards

Citizenship Helpdesk
Team 4
My application was submitted in July 2018. If this is believable, then everyone who has their application submitted before this date and got their approval should receive the invitation soon.

Good luck to you as well. I remember you mentioned that someone told you over the phone that your application is complete at least one or two months ago. It's such a suspense to only receive your approval now.

I booked a hotel 700 meters from INEC last week. Today when I went back to check the price again, it was 30 euro more expensive. I would urge anyone who has submitted their fees to book the hotel now (go for the ones that allow free cancellations apparently).

Got my approval letter on 26/03, dated 19/03. It said to send the €950, pics and GNIB within 10 days of the date of the letter. Sent it on the 28th, and was supposed to be delivered on the 29th, but An Post decided to send the envelope to the wrong address. Long story short, they will only receive it in the Department of Justice on Monday the 1st. Hopefully they still send me the invitation for the next ceremony!

Could you share your full timeline (e.g. when you applied, on what basis)?
