Should we marry in the US or UK?

Post by waltmaj » Tue Apr 09, 2019 12:22 pm

Hello all

just submitting the below question on behalf of a work mate

I am a British citizen soon to be married to my fiancé who is a US citizen. We have a friend who was in the same situation. They got married in the states but now he has been waiting a in the US for a good 8 months for his green-card(or what ever visa status) and not working and he says if he comes back to the UK to work before the permit comes through their application will become void. My question is ..is there any way around this? My fiancé and I think we could be using that 6-8 months working in each of our countries at least and saving for our new life together.

Thanks for your answers.

You should ask your 'work mate' to register on the forum and ask their own questions based on their circumstances.

It really depends which country they wish to settle in and is their choice where they choose to marry.
