Public funds on Pre-settled and settled status.

Post by robin12345 » Fri Apr 12, 2019 2:06 pm

Hi there,

I spoke to EU settlement scheme and they said in black and white regardless of what nationality you hold as long as you have either pre-settled or settled status you will be eligible for public funds as it says in gov. uk website

"Your rights with the settled or pre-settled status
You’ll be able to:

work in the UK
use the NHS
enroll in education or continue studying
access public funds such as benefits and pensions, if you’re eligible for them
travel in and out of the UK"

so anyone knows if as being Non-Eu and having Pre-Settled Status can you claim benefits?

I don’t know if you have got the answer to your question already but I am wondering the same thing.
I read recently that pre settled status doesn’t give you right to reside and you must be exercising some sort of right to meet this test for instance be working or be self employed etc
Don’t know how much of that is true
