Tier 4 Switching to Spouse Visa(Urgent) Help

Post by OJRICHARDS » Thu Apr 18, 2019 2:31 pm

I currently have offers from QMUL and City, UoL to study law beginning September 2019. My fiance is a British citizen currently resident the UK. We have decided to get married later this year. My question now is: Should we get married here in the US, apply for Tier4 student visa and when I arrive in the UK, then use our US marriage certificate to apply to switch to a Spouse visa? I understand we could apply to get married while in the UK, but I read the HO may launch an investigation and turn an otherwise genuine relationship to look like a sham. Is there any disadvantage for us getting married in the USA and then applying to switch when I arrive in the UK on a Student visa?
