Tier 5 Creative to Spouse Visa

Dear all,

Is is possible to switch from a Tier 5 creative visa to a spouse visa? I’m British, my partner is Zimbabwean. Would we be able to marry in the Uk without having to do anything apart from register with a HO registry office (and poss be subject to the 70 days) or would we have to switch into fiancé visa first, then spouse? Also, does he have to have a certain number of months on his visa to allow him to do this?

A fiance visa is only applicable for applications outside the UK.

If he is married and qualifies for spouse visa (English A1 and the financial requirement of £18,600pa) then he can switch to a spouse visa as long as he still has a valid visa.
