Bank Letter and bank statements - Tier 1 initial application

Manage to submit the online application before the end of last month !

Have a slight issue at the moment.
I have all the required funds in my bank account for over 100 days. Have all th bank statements stamped by the bank.
However the bank refused to issue a letter to state I have maintained the minimum funds over 90 days as their compliance department are quite strict and they can only provide a certificate of balance and they said the bank statements should show there were no movements.

Really frustrating! Will a cover letter explaining this situation be sufficient when I hand in my original document ( hopefully in a few weeks as I am waiting for the criminal check clearance)

Thanks however in the documentation requirement from the home office they did state the letter.
