Naturalisation through domestic violence ILR

Post by Khush17 » Thu May 02, 2019 12:09 am

I have got ILR in dec 2018 on the basis of domestic violence. I came to UK in dec 2017, my husband is british born but because of domestic violence our marriage have ended. Now I have 2 queries
1- Do I have to wait for 5 years for naturalisation bcoz I have been here only for a year and a half if not Can I go through 3 years route for the partners of british national

2- I have legally applied for divorce would this effect my application
What is the best option for me kindly suggest
Thanks,

1. Yes you will have to wait for 5 years before applying for citizenship. If you are divorced you can't use the 3 year British spouse route

2. No issue.
