Claiming Child Benifit

Dear Respected Memebers,

I need to ask you guys one question regarding Child Benifit. I am on ILR and my citizenship is due in October this year and my wife is still on spouse visa. Am I allowed to apply for my sons child benifit on my name? and will it effect my citizenship application or my wife future visa application applications?
