I've lost my BRP card, and want to apply for Schengen visa

I'm a PhD student at the university of Manchester. I have recently lost my BRP card and I applied for a replacement card. I will have to attend a conference in Norway.

Can I start the visa application process while I'm still waiting for the replacement BRP card?

Or I should wait for the new BRP card then apply for the visa? The issue is I only have one month until the conference begins, and the time doesn't permit to wait for the new BRP card and then start applying for the visa.

You need to provide evidence of your UK visa status and that it still has the length of validity required for the Schengen visa.

You need your BRP.

If you applied for a replacement of BRP you should have a proof of that so just go and ask if you can go ahead with the application based on that.
