Next ceremony after 29 April

Post by littlerr » Tue Apr 16, 2019 11:03 am

28 June 2019 at WIT, Waterford. Probably going to be a much smaller one similar to the one they had last year in National Concert Hall.

It will most likely not be advertised on INIS website.

Good luck to everyone who’s still waiting.

Information is from an official source.

In addition to the 30th September ceremony in Killarney, as advertised on the INIS website?

Yes. They only advertise main ceremonies on their website. My understanding is that these smaller ceremonies are to cater for people that can not attend the main ceremony for various reasons.

Its interesting to know that the next ceremony is on 28 June 2019. In fact one of my friend contacted the citizenship division through his Solicitor, as his wife's application was stuck in second stage. On 15th April his Solicitor received a reply stating that his spouse application has been passed to Minister for final decision and she will be invited for June ceremony. They did not give the exact date. I have a little query. Almost all the Citizenship ceremonies are held on Monday, but its Friday on 28 June 2019. Could it be 24 June 2019? Secondly I will be grateful if you share that from what source you get this information?
Please provide your valuable comments.
Thanks.

I cannot tell you what the occasion is, as that would make both me and the staff identifiable, but it is an official correspondence from the citizenship department as instructed by the minister.

The event is not finalised yet so it is possible that they would change dates. Anyway I was given this date of 28 June in written form.

Thank you for reply, which is much appreciated. I surely do not want to jeopardise your or your staff ID at all. If you have received something in written then it is confirmed. Finally, could you please check or remember any ceremony which could be held on the day other than Monday.
Thank you once again for your valuable information. I p

In 2017, there was a ceremony on Friday. The date doesn’t sound suspicious to me.

21 April 2017 and 25 November 2016 are both Friday. There wasn’t one on Friday for 2018 though.

Thank you littlerr. I checked and confirm that there have been few ceremonies on Fridays previously. I did not doubt about the veracity of your statement but was bit confused by observing the last few ceremonies on Mondays. I Perceived that Monday is the official day for ceremonies.

Dear littlerr thank you once again for your help and support, and providing and sharing useful information.

Finally, I seek your valuable opinion in following matter.
We likewise my friend have received an official correspondence through Local TD. Local TD have sent the department of justice an email through oireachats portal regarding the status of my wife application for Irish citizenship. They have received a response from the department they have stated that “ We have received an information from the citizenship division we can confirm that their checks have now been completed and pending minister approval, they expect Ms..... to be invited to the June ceremony. Ms.... will be contacted in writing as soon as a decision has been reached”

Now what could you make of this? An invitation is imminent? Please advise.
Thank you in advance.
I look forward to your valuable opinion.

I’m just an immigrant no different than you or your wife. I cannot tell you whether that means anything in concrete.

My understanding based on my experience with INIS is that never trust anything they say until you see the approval letter yourself.

Thank you for this information. If you don’t mind could you share whether you get this date through any approval letter or by your solicitor or TD?

As I mentioned in my previous post, I cannot disclose the information at this stage, but it is from an official source in the Justice department in written form.

I can confirm your information above. I received my letter requesting me to send in gnib, 950e etc for consideration back in March but unfortunately, I was out of the country so I didn't get to submit my documents and payment until yesterday. Last week, I went to check if I should renew my residence permit as it expires in August or if I should send in my existing one and they told me the next ceremony was 28th June so I should be ok...Hopefully I get invited to that one.

Anyone know how long it takes to be invited to the ceremony after your payment is made?

Congrats. The invitation letter is sent 3-4 weeks before the ceremony, so you should expect to receive yours in the first 2 weeks of June.
