Emergency travel to India ( passport submitted to UK home office )

Post by aspirant910 » Tue May 14, 2019 4:58 pm

Hello,
I have submitted my passport for WP visa ( normal service ) extension last week however, my father health has suddenly deteriorated and I may need to travel back to India in emergency at any time.
Have anyone been through similar situation in past?
Please advise
Thanks

What is a "WP visa"?? Here is no such visa category and you have posted in the family immigration sub forum.

If you travel out of the UK, your application will be considered withdrawn

Thanks CR001,
Does this apply till you get BRP or you can travel once your password is handed over like in 1 super priority service?

I am planning for 1-day service ( extension of ICT Tier 2 ) and I believe once a decision has been made my passport will be sent prior to BRP.
Can I travel outside the UK once I have my passport or I have to wait for the BRP as well?

Your passport is no longer submitted. It is a scanned copy you submit.

You need to wait for your new BRP card.

Note that many are experiencing delays with the 24 hour super priority service, some waiting a few days for a decision.

I have saved my application and it looks like I need to submit the passport as the original.
I am not sure if one needs to wait for BRP. I am totally confused :(

If you apply using the UKCVAS Sopra Steria service, you scan your documents in. HO could at any time ask for your originals to be sent though.

Most get BRP card within a few days but it can take up to 10 days.

yes, you were right they just did scan our passport's ( of dependents ) and existing BRP's and returned both documents.
I opted for super priority service as due to a family emergency back in my home country I want to travel asap.
My existing BRP is going to expire in early July which I have in my possession along with the passport.
1. can I travel now or I need to wait till a decision is being made on my application.
2. Once I get an email that a decision has been made on my application via email, can I travel outside of UK ? and once my wife comes back to my home country next month she can bring my new BRP's.

What else are my options to travel asap.
Thanks
