Switching from Tier 4 to Start-up

Post by Mohsenmln » Sat May 25, 2019 11:00 pm

Hello,

Is it possible to register your company while waiting for your visa decision?
I am switching my visa from tier 4 to tier 1 (start-up) and mine can be as long as 8 weeks.

Thanks

Note also that it is NOT a Tier 1 Start Up visa. It is simply 'START UP' which is NOT a points based system visa.

Do you have endorsement already?

Yes, my university endorsed me, I also applied for the visa a few days ago, however, seems the decision can take up to 8 weeks. Can I register my company the one I used to get the endorsement?

You will need to wait. Your existing tier 4 visa conditions continue and remain in place until HO decides your start up application.

Thanks, one more thing, as I officially finished my Ph.D. a month ago, so I am entitled to a full-time job, does this mean I can register a company and be a director?

I'm referring to when a Tier 4 student finishes his study then he can work full-time.

You can work for employer if your visa permits working but you cannot start a business and be self emoyed as far as I understand from Tier 4 policy guidance.
