What was your immigration status between 2007 and 2012? Also, is your partner British or a foreign national?

British nationality's for children

Post by San_78 » Sun Jun 02, 2019 12:11 am

Hello, as me and my siblings came into the uk with our parents but we have lived half of our life in the uk, and have been granted ILR, can we apply for British nationality?

We came in 2007 applied asylum with parents, aged 10 and 12. - have lived in uk for 12 years.
Granted 6 years limited leave
Granted ILR
Are we children eligible to apply for nationality?

If under 18, then possible, but easier if a parent applies for British citizenship as well.

Else, if 18 or over, then have to satisfy the naturalisation requirements.

But as there is a 10 years rule? That we have to complete 10 years after when we get our first decision from the home office.

Is it right that’s where 10 years starts from ?

So in our case we got it in 2012
