Expiry date - 2 years after first entry, or after issuance?

Post by hughm » Tue Jun 04, 2019 8:21 pm

Hi there,

I've been in the UK on a 2-year Tier 5 Youth Mobility.

My entry clearance vignette was valid from 5th July 2017, and I entered the UK on 12th July 2017 - does my 2 years begin from this date (12th), or from the start date on my entry clearance (5th)?.

My BRP says 'valid to 5th July 2019' so I'm presuming it's the latter, but just wanted to confirm...

Appreciate anyone who might be able to help.

Thanks!

Your visa starts from the date it is issued and not the date you entered the UK. You must leave the UK on or before your BRP cards expiry date, i.e. 5th July.
