She cannot stay in the UK for longer than she stays in her home country in a 12 month cycle. This would be seen as residing and not visiting, therefore trying to circumvent the immigration rules. If she does this, her visa could be cancelled by IO if they notice it and she will be returned home.

Thanks for your reply. How easy is to bring elderly parent permanently to UK? I can support all necessary document. Seems like its difficult to get it. Will this change in future?

Unless your Mum is destitute, homeless, penniless and has no relatives or support her in her home country then it is a near impossible to get her settled in the UK. There is a reason for this level of measurement- the UK would be swamped with elderly parents of migrants that would place a massive burden on the state otherwise.

Also your mother would have to prove that she is unable to manage basic daily tasks such as bathing, dressing and preparing food AND that help is either not affordable or is unavailable in her home country.

There have been very few successful applications for an Adult Dependant Visa since the Immigration Rules were tightened in July 2012. Most of these were from countries where the cost of care was higher in their home country, such as the USA, or after lengthy and costly Court appeals.

If your mother applies for a ADV and is refused, this will close the door for future visitor visa applications, due to the prior intention to settle in the UK.

To add to Casa - affordable - this includes you paying for care in the home country on her behalf. So if you can afford to pay for her to be in the UK it almost becomes self defeating if the home country is a low cost environment.

Thank you very much for all your replies. Much useful.

1. Seems like before July 2012 it was easy to get elderly parent dependent visa. Will this tighten policy change in future? - I mean after brexit

2. Is there any other country in Europe where I can easily get dependent visa for my elderly parent ?? like Germany, Netherlands etc.,?

Thanks
